| For the last two years, my costume on the good ol' October 31st has been casual clothes with a thematic hat.
'04 - Santa hat '05 - Pirate hat
This year, I'm thinking clown wig. I know, it's not a hat, but shut up, it's awesome.
And don't you just love radio recurrents? "Yellow" by Coldplay is, what, 6 years old, but I've heard it on the radio a lot lately... It's like I've rediscovered this song on my playlist...

| Remember that time I was like "I'm gonna update every single ocurrance during the Core!" ? Psh, what's wrong with me?
I'll get around to it... honestly... maybe I'll pull an all nighter just to do so...
| | |
| Haven't updated in a couple days... well, maybe weeks... err, months? Anywhom, here's a pity entry for the people who still use Xanga.
I can either (A) sum up the last 8 months in, like, 4 sentences, or (B) go on and on about YFN. I think I'll do the latter.
For those who DON'T know, this summer I was blessed with the oppetunity to intern at Youth For the Nations called "The Core"... which means working with 120 other amazing interns and leading 4,000 campers into a deeper relationship with the Lord.. This is an amazing blessing because only 20 highschoolers are allowed to do it each year, and I was one of them. It was basically the greatest experiance of my entire life, hands down. You guys think 5 days of YFN is awesome? Try 45. A million aspects of your life are changed. You're stretched so far spirtually, and by the end of it you're like "...did I really come THIS far?"
I grew so much spiritually while I was there, and I can't give you a staright forward reason why. There was no real moment where everything changed... it was like a million different moments... All that matured me so much...
I do regret two things, however. One, not journaling. I would love to be able to sit down and read through my thoughts throughout the summer, but I can't. And not taking pictures. I didn't even bring my camera until the Wednesday of the last week, lol. But, right here, I'm going to write down my time there, week by week, to the best of my abbility.
Dunnn.... the first week.
When I first got there, I remember it being a bit awkward... You know, being thrown into living arrangments with people you don't know... But, for whatever reason, it was surprisingly comfortable. I could easily relate and talk to these people. True, Johnathan and Tyler were there, I knew them, but I didn't really... know them. Save for passing "How are you" comments at the church, I knew nothing about them.
My roomates were (and are. They will always, always be "my roomates") Garret, a quiet piano prodigy. Mainly kept to himself, on his keyboard. And Jared, a ghetto wannabe hick, and one of my best friends. I love this guy to death.
But anyways, yeah we got settled in, hung out just a bit, and come Friday wss the "intern retreat" where we actually got to know each other better... And not to mention one of the most amazing worship services I've ever experianced. Angela Ross=amazing. True story. It kind of set the tone of what was about to come... Hard to explain as well, but it just did.... And honestly, it was just fun... It was really the first time we got to connect with one another and with the other interns..
To be continued more... Dang, this is gonna be the best Xanga post in history...
